Eva & Todd | Atlantic Inn | Block Island, RI

Welcome back! This time we’re going to wisk you away to a destination wedding! Okay, maybe it’s still in the New England area but we’re off to Block Island in Rhode Island. Eva and Todd wanted a wedding weekend were their guests could relax and enjoy themselves, in Todd’s words “lots of champagne and cake!” Which is just the kind of party we like to be a part of, as that’s two of our favorite aspects of weddings as well!

Block Island is just under 10 square miles so it’s a quiet little area with a lot of beautiful oceanside scenery.

Eva’s family is Chinese which meant that Eva and Todd wanted to add in some traditional Chinese flair, like the ever entertaining Chinese door games! The door game is ‘played’ before the wedding ceremony. The groom heads to the brides home to pick her up. Upon arrival, the bridesmaids will prevent the groom from easily getting to his bride. He will have to complete several tasks to prove his love for his bride, like doing a funny skit, doing a dance or singing a love song, before being allowed to walk through the door.

Todd was put through some fun and games to get to his beautiful bride Eva.

After the door games, Eva and Todd had a chance to spend some time together alone before their Chinese tea ceremony. Eva started out the day in a traditional Chinese red dress (as the color red is considered good luck in the Chinese culture.)

After the tea ceremony, it was time for Eva and Todd’s second ceremony which included Eva’s breathtaking Vera Wang wedding dress and Todd’s tuxedo from Harvey Nichols. This is the kind of couple you see when you open up those fashion wedding magazines! Those pops of yellow orchids were a great splash of color thanks to La Bella Rose.

After the ceremony Eva and Todd took some time to get pictures around the island and have some alone time before the reception started. Block Island created a perfect setting for some beach themed pictures 🙂

Eva and Todd headed back to the reception to greet their guests with… Yup! You guessed it: “lots of champagne and cake!”

As the night started to wind down, Eva and Todd had one more surprise for their guests, an EPIC firework display to end the night with a bang!

All the best wishes to Eva and Todd. It was a beautiful wedding with some amazing surprises. Thank you so much for sharing your day with us!
